Creating a Alter

A alter is a sacred space we create for a specific purpose, within our home or yard. We can create memorial alters, crystal alters, intention alters, holiday alters, magical alters and much more.

Our imagination is really the “ limit” on the type of alter we want to create. It’s really as simple as adding the elements that we intuitively feel drawn to and using our intuition to help us build that alter into being.

The more creative we are with building our alter, the more fun it is. Alters are 3D representatives of out intentions and help to hold space for us. Remove and add elements as you feel inclined. Leave the alter intact for as long as it feels right to do so.

I always have a alter up in my home and often change them based on astrological dates such as the New and Full Moons, the Equinox’s and the Solstice’s.

Taking a picture of the alter, gives us a energetic version, that we can keep for years to come.

Build your Sacred Space

  1. Start by setting your intention for the alter, keeping the colors in mind that you might want to use.

  2. Pick a safe a location to place the alter, such as a table top, away from pets and small children.

  3. Pick out the base. You can use a placemat, a piece of fabric, a napkin, a crystal grid board or some of other kind of base, that serves as the foundation of the alter.

  4. Next, pick out the elements to add, such as flowers, candles, crystals, statues, stuffed animals, etc.

  5. Once you picked out all the elements, place them in a way that feels best to you and enjoy!
